POLICY HACK 2023 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Hello Colleagues,
We are excited to announce that registration for the 2023 Policy Hack Nova Scotia competition has begun.

Policy Hack is a collaborative intergovernmental competition where federal, provincial, and municipal employees in Nova Scotia come together to develop solutions to complex policy issues currently impacting Nova Scotians. No policy experience required to participate. The competition will run from April 11th to May 31st .

We are looking to build a strong, diverse, and talented group of participants, coaches, and judges.

If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, joining the Policy Hack planning team can help you achieve those goals.

What is the Policy Hack Competition?
Policy Hack is a collaborative intergovernmental competition where federal, provincial, and municipal employees in Nova Scotia come together to develop solutions to complex policy issues currently impacting Nova Scotians. No policy experience required to participate.

What kind of experience can I gain?
There are opportunities to gain experience and develop skills in leadership, management, technology, and communications among other areas. Equally, you will be able to take advantage of opportunities for professional development, networking and
innovation.

What is the time commitment?
It depends on your role. For team members, they can expect to commit 2-3 hours weekly to Policy Hack. For coaches, they can expect to commit one hour per week. For judges, the time commitment would be approx. 1hr prior to competition day to review written submission and approx. 3 – 4hrs on competition day to view the presentations.

How do I participate?

Please register as a team member, coach, case sponsor, or judge by filling out the appropriate Google form. Participants who register will be evenly matched to teams with varying levels of policy experience. The application deadline is March 13th .
