ICYMI: A conversation with Graham Steele, author of Nova Scotia Politics: From Macdonald to McNeil

On March 9, 2022, IPAC Nova Scotia hosted an engaging discussion with Graham Steele, author of Nova Scotia Politics: From Macdonald to McNeil. The discussion was moderated by Tracey Barbrick, ADM for the Department of Seniors and Long Term Care. A recording of the event is below.

 

Graham Steele was a member of the Nova Scotia legislature from 2001 to 2013. He was the minister of finance and minister of Acadian affairs (2009-2012) and minister of economic and rural development and tourism (2013) in the Dexter government. He is the author of the Globe and Mail bestselling memoir What I Learned About Politics, nominated for the 2015 Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing and the 2015 Evelyn Richardson Award for Nonfiction. Graham was appointed Information and Privacy Commissioner of Nunavut in November 2020.

Tracey Barbrick is the Associate Deputy Minister of the Nova Scotia Department of Seniors and Long Term Care. Tracey’s provincial government career began in 2001 and has spanned multiple departments including Environment, Health and Wellness, Labour and Advanced Education, and Community Services, and most recently included leading the province’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
