2026 IPAC Robbie Burns Day Whisky Tasting with Matt Campbell

  • Halifax Citadel National Historic Site 5425 Sackville St Halifax, NS Canada (map)

Celebrate Scotland’s rich whisky heritage with a guided tasting exploring the six whisky regions—from the smoky Islay malts to the delicate Lowlands—paired with readings from the poetry of Robert Burns. The evening will be hosted by Matt Campbell from Deloitte, past IPAC chair, and we are pleased to welcome back special guest David Glover for another year of poetry and storytelling.

Whether you’re new to whisky or a seasoned connoisseur, this event offers a unique opportunity to taste, learn, and toast in true Scottish style. Seating is limited, so registration is required. This event has sold out quickly for the past three years so registration will go quickly (think Taylor Swift).

Date: Monday, January 26, 2025
Time: 6:00 to 8:30 pm
Capacity: 27 attendees (please refer to eventbrite to see whether event has sold out).

Drams*

  • Lowlands: Glenkinchie 12 — the honeyed meadow (light, floral, gentle malt sweetness with hints of citrus)

  • Highlands: Glencadam 15 —the orchard breeze (ripe apples, soft vanilla, delicate spice, and a clean, fresh finish).

  • Speyside: GlenAllachie 15 — the sherried treasure (rich dried fruits, toffee, oak spice, and smooth caramel notes).

  • Campbeltown: Springbank 10 — the holy grail of drams (complex peat, brine, and malt — smoky, earthy, and layered)

  • Islands: Ledaig 10 — the coastal fire (smoky peat meets maritime salt, with hints of citrus and malt)
